something not meant for crafting

At Charisma cardz this fortnight the challenge is on to use something not meant for crafting, and I struggled as everything seems to be used in crafting these days. I am addicted to looking at upcycling Pinterest boards but for some reason inspiration wasn't hitting me. But I found an old lonely playing card in my son's room and thought I could use it as a mat for my image rather than throw it away. The image is from our sponsor Dr Digi and I've coloured him in with Promarkers (I just don't have enough copics yet)

So join in the challenge, I am sure there will be some amazing ideas and inspiration in the gallery this week!

envelopes and inserts

now for this challenge over at Digi Choosday I envisioned making a gorgeous envelope book, (check out the rest of the DT their creations are amazing) but I couldn't get it too look anywhere near amazing. I forund a tutorial on how to make an envelope just using four circles and went with that. I had wanted to decorate the inside more but the digi I had printed was too big, I printed off a sentiment instead and liked the effect. It's a really good kids craft too :)
So hop over to the new digi choosday blog, it is anything goes all the time and there's plenty of Polkadoodle inspiration to find xxx

blue kitty

I had a lot of fun colouring in this cute kitty image from Oak Pond creations, I decided to go crazy with colour, but I think the blue looks cute ;) I have used a gorgeous teal mirror card but the colour doesn't show well on camera annoyingly.
I hope you can join in the animal themed challenge at CAGI this week, can't wait to see the entries, good luck!!

Shaped cards

It's Digi Choosday :) The DT challenge this week was al about shape and instead of using my cameo to cut out a shape I decided to try a fancy fold, the upright diamond card (instructions here) I went with a valentines theme as I really wanted to use the gorgeous Emma Canning Be Mine digi and papers from the love will flourish collection! Pop over to Digi Choosday where it is always Anything Goes and join in the challenge.

funny birthdays

CAGI challenge this week is humorous birthday and Bugaboo is our sponsor. Their digis are perfect for funny cards and the sentiments on their site are brilliant. I decided to go simple and use a backing paper with quite a big image on. I tend to leave these types of papers in my stash as the image can get lost on a card or overpower it but I think the digi stands out over the cake image, what do you think? I coloured him with a mix of promarkers and copics as I don't have enough pastal shades in copics yet and I think my Promarkers were getting a bit neglected haha. (I want some graphits next but hubby says no I spent a small fortune on copics eek)

So join in the fun over at CAGI, good luck!!!

fashion forward

There is a new look blog for Digi Choosday this week and what better theme than fashion to kick it off. I have used a gorgeous Polkadoodle digi Glitz for my card this week, she was fun to colour! I cut around her feather and a bit around her head and tucked it over the top of a die, this makes it look like the image is coming out of the page. A better demo can be found here. I have used some gorgeous teal mirrorcard but as usual the camera hasn't picked it up. it looks stunning though :)

So come and celebrate the new blog and join us, it is always anything goes so no excuse lol!

CAGI- girly

The theme at CAGI this week is make it girly, I have used a gorgeous Lacy Sunshine image but my colouring is a bit off I think. I need more colours of copics as I am not sure about this pink. I need to mix and match my promarkers and copics more I think. I have gone quite soft and peachy and used flowers and lace for this one, tres girly :)

Digi Choosday- shopaholics

I have made a shaped card for a change. I don't do this as often as I could on my silhouette but I find it can be time consuming if I am creating the shape or if I am manipulating a shape into a card. This was a scalloped circle I repeated merged then stretched to an oval shape.
This week's DT challenge at digi choosday was shopaholics so I used one of the shop digis from Dollie Daydream girl talk CD and coloured with my copics. I used the backing papers from the cd and inside the card I used another digi I had coloured for last weeks challenge but couldn't use as I was out of action looking after my poorly boy.

Checkout the challenge and Polkadoodles website and brand new Etsy store for digi wonderousness (is that a word?)

cagi challenge- Clean and Simple

I don't get to do CAS often and I'm not practiced enough but i quite like this simple valentines card. What do you think? I just used a small kraft card base and a piece of white copier paper I rounded three corners of. I then used scrap paper to punch out hearts. I added a bit of doodling around the edges and a sentiment.
Join in the fun at CAGI challenge blog and checkout the DT makes, gorgeous as to be expected!
